With the running of the first Group 1’s on Saturday we take a look at each of the runners in the field which includes last years Caulfield Guineas winner All Too Hard who will start as the short priced favourite in a nine horse field.

1. King Mufhasa Preview:

King Mufhasa will be returning to Australia after he made the trip from New Zealand in October to contest the Toorak Handicap in which he ran fifth. This preparation he has ran fourth in the Tauranga Stakes first up then ran second in the Group 2 Captain Cook Stakes before winning the Group 3 Challenge Stakes last start. He opened at $3.60 for Saturday’s C F Orr Stakes before drifting to his current quote of $4 due to the support for All Too Hard.

Trainer: B J Wallace

Jockey: M Rodd

Breeding: Pentire x Sheila Cheval

Prize money earned: $2706735

Form at 1400m: 18:6,4,2

C.F. Orr Stakes Odds: $4.00

C.F. Orr Stakes barrier: 1

Weight to be carried: 59kg

2. Wall Street Preview:

Wall Street will be having his first run back from his Western Australian campaign in which he ran eighth in the Railway Stakes before being scratched from the Kingston Town Classic. He is yet to win a race since his Emirates Stakes victory in 2010 and bookmakers and punters feel that will continue on Saturday where he is a $31 chance.

Trainer: M D Moroney

Jockey: S W Arnold

Breeding: Montjeu x Villa Wanda

Prize money earned: $1595669

Form at 1400m: 8:1,2,1

C.F. Orr Stakes Odds: $31

C.F. Orr Stakes barrier: 6

Weight to be carried: 59kg

3. Mr Moet Preview:

Western Australian galloper Mr Moet had a very successful preparation in WA and has made the trip across for the Melbourne Autumn Racing Carnival and will be having his first Victorian start in the  C.F. Orr Stakes. You cannot knock his form going into the race and looks a good chance at $21 although they may be a bit too sharp for him over the distance, a placing would not shock though.

Trainer: A G Durrant

Jockey: D Staeck

Breeding: Mosayter x Marlock Miss

Prize money earned: $1357080

Form at 1400m: 5:2,2,0

C.F. Orr Stakes Odds: $17

C.F. Orr Stakes barrier: 3

Weight to be carried: 59kg

4. Pinwheel Preview:

One of the most honest gallopers in Australia Pinwheel rarely misses a cheque when he races. His first up run in the Australia Stakes was very impressive and looks like a contender in Saturday’s race but the current odds of $5.50 may be a little under what he should be with his strike rate at the distance and track is not too great. Once of the contenders.

Trainer: Peter Snowden

Jockey: K Mc Evoy

Breeding: Lonhro x Quilt

Prize money earned: $1150000

Form at 1400m: 6:2,0,1

C.F. Orr Stakes Odds: $5.50

C.F. Orr Stakes barrier: 4

Weight to be carried: 59kg

5. Mawingo Preview:

Last years Doomben Cup winner will be returning to the track after his eighth placed finish in the Underwood Stakes last year. Opened at $9 for the race before drifting to his current quote of $12 and is likely to start longer on the day with the 1400m trip looking like it will be too short for him. Watch him finishing the race off well late.

Trainer: Anthony Freedman

Jockey: Craig Williams

Breeding: Tertullian x Montfleur

Prize money earned: $532193

Form at 1400m: Untried at this distance

C.F. Orr Stakes Odds: $12

C.F. Orr Stakes barrier: 4

Weight to be carried: 59kg

6. Callanish Preview:

Unbeaten galloper Callanish will be having his toughest test to date when he tackles the Group 1 C.F. Orr Stakes at Caulfield racecourse on the weekend. Callanish is coming off an impressive victory in the Seymour Cup last preparation and has been well supported by punters to upset the favourite All Too Hard.

Trainer: M G Price

Jockey: Dale Smith

Breeding: Fastnet Rock x Dancing Doll

Prize money earned: $247551

Form at 1400m: 2:2,0,0

C.F. Orr Stakes Odds: $9

C.F. Orr Stakes barrier: 5

Weight to be carried: 59kg

7. Le Remas Preview:

Le Remas will go into Saturday’s Group 1 feature at Caulfield having won his last two starts including the Listed Barton Stakes at Caulfield although he is up against much better competition this weekend and its hard to see him being in the finish. Currently a $61 chance and likely to stay around that mark.

Trainer: B J McKnight

Jockey: D Yendall

Breeding: Al Samer x Tylden Lady

Prize money earned: $189116

Form at 1400m: Dist: 2:1,0,0

C.F. Orr Stakes Odds: $61

C.F. Orr Stakes barrier: 8

Weight to be carried: 59kg

8. Dance With Her Preview:

Dance With Her will start as the rank outsider in the 2013 C.F. Orr Stakes on Saturday and rightfully so. Dance With Her’s best win has come in Listed grade which was much easier company than what she will face here and will be giving the Cox Plate runner up one and a half kilograms.

Trainer: D Brideoake & D Feek

Jockey: B Melham

Breeding: Al Maher x Dance Hit

Prize money earned: $684153

Form at 1400m: 5:1,1,0

C.F. Orr Stakes Odds: $101

C.F. Orr Stakes barrier: 7

Weight to be carried: 57kg

9. All Too Hard Preview:

Last years Caulfield Guineas winner who backed up into the Cox Plate in which he ran a very gallant second. Opened as the $2.70 favourite for the race when fields where released but has been backed into his current quote of $2.30. It looks a race which if any other runners can beat All Too Hard past the post they will win the race.

Trainer:M, W & J Hawkes

Jockey: D Dunn

Breeding: Casino Prince x Helsinge

Prize money earned: $1499200

Form at 1400m: 2:1,1,0

C.F. Orr Stakes Odds: $2.35

C.F. Orr Stakes barrier: 9

Weight to be carried: 55.5kg
