There were some nice performances at the Werribee jump outs on Friday. Who caught our eye the most? Find out down below.
Werribee- Friday, March 20: Weather Fine, Track Good 4.
Heat One- Mulaqen (1st):
Handy stayer for Chris Waller who hasn’t raced since October, but looks on track for a winning prep judging on his jump out win here, where he jumped well, sat on speed, cruised away in the straight under no pressure and won with a fair bit of ease. One of the better jump out performances of the morning.
Heat Two- Prince Harada (1st):
Second time this horse has made the ‘Trial Watch’ file. Won a Flemington jump out a couple of weeks prior, but he looked much more impressive here, jumping well to lead before kicking on strongly in the straight to win under a good hold on the line. Really keen to see where he resumes.
Heat Three- Trade Commissioner (4th):
Wagga Cup winner from last year for Chris Waller who did nothing in several runs during the Spring, but he looks to have enjoyed a good spell judging by his performance here. He jumped okay, settled out the back before taking gaps between runners at the top of the straight and working home very strongly under no pressure from the rider.
Heat Five- Bullpit (1st):
Last ran at Rosehill, running second to Fine Mist, who franked the form by bolting in recently at Warwick Farm. Bullpit is now back home, and looked very sharp in this jump out, where he showed his customary early speed to lead against the rail before showing a nice turn of foot on the turn and going on to win under a hold.
Heat Eight- Radioactive (1st):
Chris Waller unraced gelding who made the ‘Trial Watch’ file a couple of weeks back at Flemington, where he got back and worked home strongly, but in this particular jump out, he showed better gate speed and sat up near the lead. He looked to travel well in the run before being shaken up by the rider in the straight, responding well to win, being eased down on the line.
Heat Ten- Minaj (1st):
Classy mare who also made the ‘Trial Watch’ file a couple of weeks back at Flemington, but gee she looked very impressive here. She normally flies the gates to lead, but this time she was ridden off the speed and had cover. She really seemed to like it because she travelled very sweetly in the run and went to the line under a big grip to run second. Best of the morning.
