Hawkesbury might have been washed out, but there was still some pretty handy racing across Australia this Saturday, highlighted by the devastating win of Delicacy in the Australasian Oaks (2000m). Who caught our attention on the track? Find out down below:

Caulfield-
Race Five Number 9 Payroll (2nd):
Was very keen on this filly, but unfortunately the barrier just beat her. Cahill was forced to go back and then was asked to come the widest runner on the turn. She was huge under the circumstances, and could be a sneaky chance to head to Brisbane for the Carnival.

Race Five Number 3 Delicacy (1st):
Well we all know that it’s hard for three year old fillies to go on into their fourth season and be competitive at a high level. Delicacy will change that. Huge, huge, huge win in the Oaks. First 1400m run in a tick under 1:30, so she really had no right to finish off, let alone win and win under only hands and heels. Look out Caulfield Cup.
Race Seven Number 7 Politeness (6th):
Great win by Miracles Of Life, but Politeness should have bolted in. Absolutely no luck at the top of the straight when appearing to travel big time, but she just couldn’t get clear, then was in a bumping duel with Vain Queen and Fine Approach. Had she got a clear run, she wins I think.

Caulfield:
Race Six Number 4 Liberation (Last):
He’ll be a very good horse if he is gelded, but as long as he has a fifth leg, he won’t be winning races.
Race Eight Number 1 Sistine Demon (10th):
Racing very poorly at the moment, and that was very evident here. Spell and come back in the Spring IMO.

Race Three:
Just forget it as a form reference. Four pathetic rides and one outstanding ride. That sums the race up.
