Back Me: Looks a lovely race for Eclair Attack (Best Odds: $3.40). He had one run in the Autumn and ran second to subsequent Stakes performer Counter Pulse before being spelled. He resumed a couple of weeks back at Gawler and took care of an even bunch of maiden gallopers, and while the margin wasn’t great, he did it comfortably. Expect him to be more sharp here.
Big Danger: C’est Beau La Vie (Best Odds: $3.20) had two runs during the Autumn Carnival here and was far from disgraced. He resumed over 1000m on the Parks track and let down hard from near last to win and win with a bit of ease, justifying the short quote in betting. Harder here, but he should handle the rise in class well and is a definite winning chance.
Roughie: Battle Brewing (Best Odds: $9.50) resumes here after a placing at Stakes level over the mile here during the Carnival in May. Resumes without a trial, but has a touch of class on his side and will be very strong late as he heads towards a possible Derby path.

Race Two (1:08pm) : William Hill Irish Hurdle 3200m: Form Guide
Back Me: Patty Payne has accepted both Angelology (Best Odds: $2.50) and Slowpoke Rodriguez, and they are both accepted for Ballarat on Thursday, so whichever horse runs here, they’ll be winning. They are both very good jumpers, so the small field will suit, and they have lengths on this field.
Big Danger: Agreement (Best Odds: $4.60) ran third to Bold Zamour and I thought his effort was quite commendable. He finds it very hard to win a race, but he is consistent and not too far away from the thick end of the prize, so perhaps he could fill a place at odds.
Roughie: Bold Zamour (Best Odds: $7.00) scored a surprise win in the Grand National over this track/distance last time out, sitting just off the speed before peeling out and finishing off his race strongly. Rises significantly in weight, but he is the form local runner and should prove tough to hold out.

Race Three (1:48pm) : RTC Group Handicap 1200m: Form Guide
Back Me: Riziz (Best Odds: $2.20) just picks himself here. He scored a strong win last Saturday in the Penny Edition, and with the claim for Caitlin Jones…he really should bolt in. Really surprised he opened $3.20.
Big Danger: Dropping back to 1200m should suit Spring Stakes winner Red Eclispe (Best Odds: $3.80), who ran sixth in the Penny Edition and just didn’t run the 1400m. Looks better suited here and can definitely run second.
Roughie: Cellarmaster (Best Odds: $8.00) resumes here for Patty Payne. He hasn’t raced since February when working home well to finish third to Magnus Lad in the Sale Quality. His two Cranbourne trials have been very sharp and he can definitely run well fresh.

Race Four (2:23pm) : William Hill Irish Steeple 3500m: Form Guide
Back Me: Going with Zataglio (Best Odds: $1.45), who comes here off a Grand National placing over this track/distance when second to stablemate Urban Explorer, beaten just over a length. This is a very thin, and if he just holds his form, he should nearly just about take care of this lot.
Big Danger: King Triton (Best Odds: $4.20) hasn’t raced since failing to finish the Grand National at Ballarat behind star jumper Bashboy. Prior to that he ran placings in four of the better class jumps races on the calendar, so take out the Ballarat run, and his form has been great. He loves racing here at Morphettville and should be right in the finish.
Roughie: I honestly have no idea what to put in for third…maybe Spying On You (Best Odds: $14.00)? His run three back behind Angelology was alright without being great. If he jumps cleanly, he can place, but the horses mentioned above look the pair to beat.

Race Five (3:03pm) : Quayclean Handicap 1518m: Form Guide
Back Me: Looks a two horse race between the top two. Leaning with the in form Karlovasi (Best Odds: $7.00). He has looked gone at his past couple, but he has shown some pretty good grit under the hard urgings of Paul Gatt. He will have to do well to hold out the main threat, but I’ll go with him.
Big Danger: One For One (Best Odds: $2.15) worked home strongly first up at Gawler (metro) when second to subsequent Flemington placegetter Jacksay before taking care of an average lot during the midweeks on the Parks track. He looks well above average and should take some beating here.
Roughie: Celestial Story (Best Odds: $13.00) ran sixth to Karlovasi two back on the Parks track before going to Gawler and finished off best to get the job done. Harder here, and I doubt she can beat the stablemate, but she could place.

Race Six (3:43pm) : Rondo Handicap (82) 1600m: Form Guide
Back Me: On A Dream (Best Odds: $5.80) for me here. He ran over this track/distance last time out and looked home despite pulling hard in the run, but he cost himself victory by wanting to lay in and it allowed Russian Rocker to kick on too strongly. With better racing manners, he can win and turn the tables.
Big Danger: Russian Rocker (Best Odds: $11.00) does look the main threat here. He was given a beaut steer from Jamie Kah to win that race mentioned above. She lifted him hard over the concluding stages to get the job done. He can win again for sure, no reason why he can’t.
Roughie: Streetcar Valour (Best Odds: $10.00) is on the quick back up after racing over 1400m on the Parks track last Saturday when fourth to Rocket Commander after sitting on speed throughout. He looks suited up to the mile and with a senior rider now on. And if he also can be ridden with a trail, he can be a threat.

Race Seven (4:23pm) : CSR Gyprock Handicap (80) 1100m: Form Guide
Back Me: Very thin race, so I think the mare Coachella (Best Odds: $3.70) could be the way to go here. She was pretty solid during the Carnival as a three year old filly and while she didn’t win, she didn’t disgrace herself. Recent Gawler trial was pleasing and she is only carrying 51.5kg here after the claim for Emily Finnegan. Hard to beat.
Big Danger: Cash Is Coming (Best Odds: $4.60) ran over 1200m here a couple of weeks back and worked home well late when fourth to Counter Spin, an in form galloper. Draws terribly here, but if the speed is on, then he will be working home better than most here, and has the race fitness.
Roughie: Sunset Rock (Best Odds: $4.80) looked sharp in a barrier trial win prior to resuming here a few weeks back where he sat on speed and felt the pinch late when eighth to Our Littletreasure. He should take good improvement from that outing and can sharply improve here with the run under the belt.

Race Eight (4:58pm) : Akeed Mofeed @ Goldin Farms Handicap (70) 1800m: Form Guide
Back Me: Tidy Prophet (Best Odds: $6.20) on top in the last. He ran here a fortnight back and worked home well late when second to Hoylake, who is in red hot form at the moment, so that form reference is the best one here. Neilson sticks, draws well and appears to be one of the hardest to beat.
Big Danger: Real Messi (Best Odds: $9.00) ran second to Temps Voleur at Sandown last time out after sitting back and wide throughout. He surged up to win the race in the straight, but he couldn’t quite go on with it and had to settle for a close second. Easier here and should be right in the finish.
Roughie: The Chairman (Best Odds: $6.40) scored a strong maiden win two back at Sale before going to Sandown and doing a power of work when sitting wide no cover on speed throughout when fifth to Temps Voleur. He looks to have a fair bit of upside here and Tourneur booked is a good lead.
