Race One (13:18) : Noel Cuthbert Maiden Plate 1400m Form Guide
Back Me: Going for a bit of value in the first in the shape of Wonderful Feeling (Best Odds: $11.00). Made her debut on New Years Day at Randwick over this distance and was far from disgraced, running seventh to Estonian Princess, who franked the form by running second to Sweet Idea in the Magic Millions Guineas. Went to the trials a couple of weeks ago and looked very impressive, sitting last before picking up her rivals under a hold. Happy to go with her.
Big Danger: Snippets Land (Best Odds: $9.50) was game on debut at Gosford behind New Divide, then did a stack of work early in the Magic Millions Maiden yet fought on strongly for a close up third. Nice gelding heading in the right direction and should be hard to beat here.
Roughie: Rock Temple (Best Odds: $15.00) was good first up at Kembla, then did some work to hold the lead at Canterbury and wilted late when spanked by a very impressive Citations when second. Easier assignment here, drawn well and is rock hard fit.

Race Two (13:53) : John Kanaan Handicap 1800m Form Guide
Back Me: I think it’s a race between the top two, Falago (Best Odds: $3.60) and Dog Tags, with a leaning towards the former given he has upside. Had one start in Victoria before coming here and ran a good race at Warwick Farm, coming off the bit a fair way from home but finding the line late, suggesting extra distance will be perfect, which he gets here.
Big Danger: Dog Tags (Best Odds: $4.60) ran over this track/distance a few weeks back and finished third in a three way photo finish. I thought he had his chance there to win, but was still good in defeat. Interesting to note that Bowman is riding this one and not Falago. Make of that what you will.
Roughie: Paradise Bound (Best Odds: $17.00) looks a progressive type who is getting out to an ideal trip. Was a touch unlucky not to finish closer on debut behind Seritza, then worked home strongly late when fourth to Lady Shaftesbury at Hawkesbury. Up to 1800m suits, and gets the pull in the weights after the claim.

Race Three (14:28) : Ki-Wan Kim Handicap (74) 1800m Form Guide
Back Me: Giving Tamariz (Best Odds: $3.00) one more chance here. He has let me down badly at his past couple after seemingly having every chance at Randwick and Canterbury respectively, but the key here is getting the blinkers back on, which should sharpen him up a touch.
Big Danger: Divertire (Best Odds: $5.50) beat her rivals quite comfortably over this distance at Randwick last start, beating home Junoob, who backed up a week later and bolted in. All of the horses she beat in that race that are lining up here (Mr Scary, Ultimate Gaze, Hollywood Bound) all meet her worse off at the weights, including the top tip, but I’m prepared to give Tamariz another go given he maps very well. The rest will struggle to turn the tables.
Roughie: The query runner is Danesiri (Best Odds: $26.00). Port Macquarie mare who ran an absolute corker last time out in the Belle Of The Turf, finishing a close up fifth to Myamira after getting badly held up on the turn. All three runs this time in have been very good, and she shouldn’t be left out of calculations.

Race Four (15:03) : Alan Mann Handicap (69) 1300m Form Guide
Back Me: Saint La Bamba (Best Odds: $21.00) for me in a tricky race to kick off the quaddie. He hasn’t been seen since the Autumn of last year, where his best effort was a mile win at Warwick Farm. Showed a bit of promise, but never really reached his full potential. Well, if he runs up to his excellent barrier trial at Warwick Farm recently, he may realise that quality. Beat home That’s A Good Idea without being extended…I think that’s good enough for this sort of race.
Big Danger: Prepared to give Revengeful (Best Odds: $8.50) another chance here after his failure first up at Randwick where he got badly checked and dipped twice in the run, losing all momentum. He did trial well prior to that, so forgive, forget. and expect him to be in the finish.
Roughie: Chelsea Hotel (Best Odds: $7.50) bolted in first up on her home track at Canberra, then missed the kick at Canterbury, then was hunted along to get the lead, and after doing that, she lost all chance, and was the first horse beat as they straightened up. With a clean jump here, she can roll along in front and give them something to chase.

Race Five (15:40) : Lynee McLean Handicap (75) 1150m Form Guide
Back Me: Two horse for me between Stolen Kisses (Best Odds: $4.20) and Brook Road. Going for the former, because I thought she was very impressive under the lights at Canterbury, putting them away in dominant fashion after getting the split at the top of the straight. That was her second run under the care of Guy Walter and her second run since July, so expect more improvement from a stakes class mare.
Big Danger: Brook Road (Best Odds: $3.80) trialled really nicely behind Golden Slipper winner Overreach yet started crazy odds of $7 and duly saluted in impressive style. The second horse, Pirandello, is an above average type, while the third horse, Sweet Kiss, is a stakes performer who ran well last week, so the formlines suggest she’ll give this a shake.
Roughie: I was almost inclined to make this a three horse race and include Southern Girl (Best Odds: $14.00), but she turned it up big time last start at Hawkesbury after having the sweet run just off a hot speed. She loomed to win, looked as if she was going to win, but didn’t want to go on with it. She’ll run another solid race here from the good draw, but her winning traits are lacking.

Race Six (16:20) : John Ramsay Handicap (70) 1300m Form Guide
Back Me: Last chance for Ike’s Legacy (Best Odds: $15.00) in my books. Trials like a star, then fails on race day. I’ll let him off first up given he did pull very hard in the run. Blinkers going on first time, Cassidy takes the ride…D-Day.
Big Danger: Shout To The Top (Best Odds: $5.50) is having his first run under the care of Tony McEvoy after formerly being with Danny Williams. Put together two awesome wins on his former track of Goulburn, and looked as if he was heading to the big smoke. He is here now, and trialled really nicely behind Guelph recently. Barrier is terrible, but he has a touch of quality.
Roughie: Gelding Citations (Best Odds: $4.80) could be the making of this horse. He bolted in a barrier trial, then spanked his rivals first up under the lights at Canterbury. Go through his form and he has raced against some top class youngsters and has been far from disgraced. He might reach that level before too long.

Race Seven (17:00) : Michael Ford Handicap (75) 1550m Form Guide
Back Me: Plenty to like about the win of Traitor (Best Odds: $2.40) at Warwick Farm last start, beating home Falago, who is our top tip earlier in the afternoon. Looks like he could go through the grades quite comfortably, and despite the wide draw, I expect him to be awfully hard to beat.
Big Danger: Intimate Moment (Best Odds: $5.50) is really putting together a tidy record now, and she was simply superb over the Warwick Farm mile last time out, sitting outside the speed before charging clear late to win most impressively with something up the sleeve. Should again roll forward and prove to be the serious threat to the top tip.
Roughie: Fantastic Ballad (Best Odds: $5.50) had some sort of hard luck story behind Intimate Moment, getting held until late in the piece. Wouldn’t have beaten the mare, but finished a touch closer. Will again have to go back from the wide draw, but is racing well enough to overcome that and be a force here.
