Racing Victoria manager of Strategy and Development Officer Andrew Catterall has quit Racing Victoria.
Catterall is reported to have left RV over major differences in the direction of RV’s media rights, Catterall and couple of others who still remain with Racing Victoria had been arguing with the board which is still yet to finalise a deal for Victoria’s media rights after the split late last year from TVN.
Catterall was formely the AFL’s Strategy and Marketing Manager and was instrumental in the development of afl.com.au.
Racing Victoria released a statement thanking Catterall for his contribution during his 2 years at Racing Victoria.
“Andrew was the driving force behind the establishment of racing.com; in uniting RV and industry partners in joint marketing campaigns; in the enhancement of the race fields’ policy to generate fair wagering returns to the industry and in developing the framework for an integrated media business,” RV CEO Bernard Saundry said.
“More recently Andrew has led a large volume of work on valuing our current and future media rights and in developing the strategy for the negotiations around them which will continue under the guidance of the Media Rights Working Party which is chaired by an RV Director and incorporates representatives from CRV, MRC, VRC and MVRC.”
Catterall’s resignation is effective immediately.
