The time-honoured Epsom and Metropolitan Handicaps are the headline acts for Randwick’s big spring meeting, the nominations for which are now available online.
The Flight Stakes as well as the Spring Champion Stakes bring the number of Group I races up for grabs at Randwick’s big day to four, with strong support races completing an outstanding day’s racing.
Weights for the Metropolitan Handicap are set to be raised by 2.5kg with the Anthony Cummings-trained Adelaide Cup winner Zavite poised to wear the number one saddlecloth.
Zavite is currently weighted at 54.5kg but the conditions of the Metropolitan Handicap state the highest-weighted horse must carry at least 57kg.
