Trainer Richard Hannon has celebrated a Group One quinella in the Lockinge Stakes at Newbury when the Godolphin-owned Night of Thunder beat Toormore.
Night Of Thunder had not won a race in four attempts since taking the 2000 Guineas last year.
James Doyle brought the 11-4 equal favourite Night Of Thunder home to record a neck success in the feature.
“Both of them will improve – definitely Toormore will,” Hannon said.
“He’s been a little bit heavy all this year and he doesn’t do much at home.
“Night Of Thunder shows us a bit more at home but he, too, will improve. He doesn’t have anything to prove now. He’s won a Guineas and a Lockinge and is obviously a very good horse who will make a very good stallion.
“Nothing is impossible at this stage and they will probably now go to Ascot and go well in the Queen Anne.
“As the year goes on the races open up in Europe. There is the Queen Anne, there is the Moulin and the Prix Jacques le Marois.
“There are a lot of lovely races and they don’t have to go for the same ones, and it would be better for me personally if they didn’t.”
