Rebellious Guest is likely to have the Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday week as his Group One target.
The son of Cockney Rebel also holds an entry in the seven-furlong (1400m) Dewhurst Stakes on the same afternoon, but the six-furlong (1200m) contest is trainer George Margarson’s preferred option at this stage.
All his three races to date have been over that distance, with a brace of wins at Windsor and the only blot coming in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot when he was unplaced to Power.
“He’s in the Middle Park and the Dewhurst. We’ll make up our mind at the five-day stage but the Middle Park is the more likely,” the Newmarket handler said.
“I gave him a good break. I thought about getting him ready for the Mill Reef, but I left him just a little bit shorter than I wanted to.
“He worked really well on Tuesday. I was really pleased with him and Tom (Queally) is going to sit on him on Saturday.
“It’s all systems go and I think he’s improved again. We’re looking forward to it.
“Mentally he’s getting more aggressive and physically he’s improved a hell of a lot.
“We took him out of the Lagardere at Longchamp this weekend because of the ground.”
