Olivier Peslier expects Intello to prove he is the best three-year-old colt in Europe when he runs in the Prix Jacques le Marois at Deauville on August 11.
The French rider is looking forward to taking on the top milers around before connections decide where to go after that.
Intello, trained by Andre Fabre, successfully dropped back in trip in the Prix Messidor at Maisons-Laffitte on Sunday after winning the French Derby over an extended mile and a quarter at Chantilly.
He is a leading fancy for the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe in October but Peslier, who has won the Longchamp showpiece four times, says that getting to the Marois is the first priority, where is is likely to meet Jim Bolger’s Dawn Approach
“Sunday’s race was a good preparation for the Prix Jacques le Marois,” Peslier told At The Races.
“My horse is very good. It will be interesting to see what happens, but my horse is very strong and I like him very much.
“At the moment the plan is the Prix Jacques le Marois. Andre Fabre is the best trainer so he knows the horse very well.
“First there is the Prix Jacques le Marois, then we will see what is happening.
“When he won the French Derby we had a good pace. He is very strong and he is the best three-year-old in Europe.”
