Australian-bred Rocket Man has arrived safely in Japan ahead of the Grade One Sprinters Stakes at Nakayama, the Singapore Turf Club reports.
Chasing a second international victory after his Dubai success in March, Rocket Man travelled and settled in with a minimum of fuss.
“Importantly he is eating and drinking and his weight is good,” trainer Patrick Shaw told the STC website.
“He was weighed this morning and came in at 479kg which is just about perfect.”
It was straight to business for the champion sprinter when he was put through his paces in a barrier test 24 hours after landing.
“He had a jumpout (Monday) morning which went well,” Shaw said.
“He had a canter over 900 metres and (assistant trainer) Jacci (de Tert) was happy with how it went.”
The Sprinters Stakes, a leg of the Global Sprint Challenge, will be run on Sunday week.
Shaw leaves for Japan on Saturday to oversee the final stages of Rocket Man’s preparations.
