Maluckyday remains at the head of Melbourne Cup antepost markets with one hundred days left until the great race.
Runner up to Americain last year, the Zabeel gelding has been favourite since the first markets opened, despite a lacklustre autumn.
Just Horse Racing has been momentarily checking markets, with a number of moves and additions since our last check in May.
The most notable addition has been Queensland Oaks winner Scarlett Lady, who is second favourite with Betstar and on the third line of betting with Sportsbet.
Other new additions high up in markets include import December Draw and likely visitor Red Cadeaux.
As these are before nominations markets, there are a lot of horses amongst the 455 that can already be taken out.
These include Shocking (stud), So You Think (other targets), Shez Sinsational (not running) and Rewilding (deceased).
Others are highly unlikely to even be nominated, like Oken Bruce Lee, Yosei, Peck and Squamosa.
The markets usually fluctuate wildly after entries close, but with entries pushed back a month, it may not be until September that the first big moves in markets begin to occur.
Melbourne Cup entries now close on September 1, with weights released on September 13.
Caulfield Cup and Cox Plate entries close on August 2.
The Melbourne Cup will be run on November 1.
