The combination of trainer Jason McLachlan and syndication company Slade Bloodstock will be out to add to its Magic Millions success at the Gold Coast on Saturday.
McLachlan will saddle up the Slade Bloodstock-owned Enquare, the favourite for the $1 million Magic Millions Guineas (1400m).
The combination is chasing consecutive wins in the Guineas after claiming it last year with Saluter.
McLachlan has a great record for Slade Bloodstock.
In the three years he has trained for them they have had eight individual winners of nearly $1.4 million prize money.
“Dad (trainer Bruce McLachlan) had a great relationship with the Slades and when he died they were good enough to send me a horse. We won with it and things went from there,” McLachlan said.
He is convinced Enquare is one of the best horses in the nation and will show it on Saturday.
“I keep saying it. She is the most under-rated horse in Australia. They keep talking up the rest and she keeps beating them,” he said.
“I am sure on Saturday she can show everyone just how good she is.”
Enquare has won her past four starts including an impressive victory in the Vo Rogue Plate (1350m) at her most recent outing.
“She can handle wet and dry tracks and she can be ridden forward or back. I have been waiting to get her out to 1400 metres or further,” McLachlan said.
Enquare will have to defy recent history on Saturday after drawing barrier two.
Horses drawn in double-digit barriers have won the past seven editions of the Guineas, including Saluter who came from gate 10 last year.
Also, no favourite has won the Guineas since Ha Ha in 2002.
Meanwhile, McLachlan warned punters to expect a good run from his youngster Divine Service in the $2 million Magic Millions Classic (1200m).
McLachlan, who won the Classic with Phelan Ready in 2009, said Divine Service had done well since his last-start third at Doomben on December 21.
“There will be plenty of pace and that will suit him down to the ground,” McLachlan said.
