Crown Oaks Day is the third day of the Melbourne Cup Carnival, traditionally known as ‘ladies day’. Crown Oaks Day takes place on Thursday the 8th of November, with gates opening from 10.15am. The first races takes place at 12.20pm, with the last event run on 5.50pm. Crown Oaks day is about racing and style, with women of all ages coming together to show off and have fun.

While the entire Melbourne Cup Spring Carnival is about fashion and racing culture, Crown Oaks Day is the time for women to show off their most feminine outfits. Mothers and daughters, aunts and nieces, sisters, and friends all get together for the big day, with prizes available for Myer Fashions on the Field and nine amazing races to enjoy.

The racing highlight is the Group 1 Crown Oaks, a $1,005,000 classic for three-year-old fillies that is raced over 2500m.
