The Victoria Racing Club (VRC) today announced the appointment of global executive search firm Russell Reynolds Associates to assist in the formal process of CEO succession, following the announcement Mr Dale Monteith will be leaving the Club at the end of 2012.
VRC Chairman Mr Michael Burn said with the assistance of Russell Reynolds Associates the formal search and selection process for the next VRC CEO has begun.
“A robust process has been developed to ensure the assessment of all suitable candidates, internal and external, are considered appropriately.
“Assisted by global executive search firm Russell Reynolds Associates, a selection subcommittee has been appointed to deliver suitable candidates for consideration by the VRC Board, with an appointment expected prior to the end of the year,” said Mr Burn.
Mr Burn reiterated the outstanding contribution Mr Monteith has made to the VRC over the last 12 years will leave the Club in a sound position for the future.
“Capitalising upon his deep knowledge of racing, Dale has played an invaluable role in positioning the VRC as a global leader in our sport. Dale embodies the VRC’s team culture and it has been a great pleasure to work with him,” Mr Burn said.
During the succession process Mr Monteith will continue to lead the VRC until the end of this year and oversee the delivery of the 2012 Melbourne Cup Carnival which sees the Club celebrate yet another milestone – 50 years of Fashions on the Field at Flemington.
