Flemington Race Nine Number 3 Artistic Lass ($15):
Talented mare who really struggled on the bog surface at Warrnambool last time out, running third to Zazparella. She is a mare who is much better on top of the ground, and she should get a firmer surface here, plus the bigger track and dropping back to 2000m should suit her. Bit surprised to see $15 on offer for her, because she really should be single figure odds.
Randwick Race One Number 2 Define ($11):
Former Chris Waller mare who had her first run for Gerald Ryan at Canterbury a couple of weeks back and worked home strongly late to finish sixth to Stakes performed mare Miniature. She finished ahead of Miss Tenpins yet that mare is $7.50 while Define is $11. She has more upside than Miss Tenpins, so I can’t figure out the $11 on offer. She should be at worst, $7.50.
Doomben Race Three Number 8 Widows Walk ($17):
Handy mare who worked home well in restricted room last time out when fourth to Satirical Lass, who dominated the race from the front and bolted in. That mare franked the form by bolting home last weekend in record time. That’s a really good form line yet Widows Walk will go around at double figure odds. Seems great overs.
Morphettville Race Five Number 3 Akerboy ($26):
Bordertown trained type that sat on speed and toughed it out strongly to win last Saturday at Warrnambool in a race which had a bit more depth than what he faces here. He will be up on speed again and he loves give in the ground yet is currently $26. He should get every chance from the good draw and is a great each-way bet IMO.
