Race Five Number 2 Exosphere (1st):
Big, big win from this lovely colt for Godolphin. He sat last in a small field, and looked to be floundering at the top of the straight, but Clipperton eased him out and the horse showed his brilliance. He has to prove that he can do it on a dry surface, but if we do get a soft track on Golden Rose Day, he will push Vancouver for sure.
Caulfield:
Race Four Number 3 Ready For Victory (2nd):
This is my early tip for the Caulfield Guineas. He was fantastic in resuming here. Got badly held up early on in the straight before cutting back to the worst part of the track yet savaged the line to just miss. He is a star and will take a power of beating once he steps out to the mile on his home track.
Race Five Number 7 Bounding (1st):
I’ve been saying for a few weeks now that this mare would win where ever she resumes, and that she will win a Group l this prep. She’s ticked the first box. Now to do the second, and I am supremely confident she will.
Race Seven Number 2 May’s Dream (4th) and 12 Scarlet Billows (12th):
Lovely return to racing from this pair of Darren Weir mares. May’s Dream was the obvious black booker, but watch the replay and check out the way Scarlet Billows finished off her race. Both are on track for their respective targets.
Race Eight Number 9 Prince Of Penzance (8th) and 2 Happy Trails (12th):
Prince Of Penzance got back and worked home beautifully as he kicked off his Caulfield Cup assault while Happy Trails was completely luckless in the straight and went to the line under a hold from Bossy. Should have finished much closer.

Race Five Number 3 Japonisme beyond 1200m (4th):
He had every chance here. Bowman couldn’t have ridden him any better, but when it came to the crunch, he folded up. Don’t be surprised to see him freshened up and attack the Roman Consul/Coolmore double ala stablemates Zoustar and Brazen Beau.
Race Eight Number 6 Darciwood (9th):
It was a race dominated by those on speed, but he really struggled to make up any ground. I don’t think he is a horse who prefers the sting out of the track, but he was pretty poor here and I think he can warm the bench until further notice.
Caulfield:
Race Two Number 3 Air Apparent (7th):
Admittedly she didn’t have much luck first up on the Geelong Synthetic, but gee she was plain here in a race that didn’t have much depth outside the favourite and eventual winner. She needs a kill back at the provincials before coming back to town.
