There was some great racing right across Australia on Saturday, with the highlight being the unbelievable win of Najoom in the Fred Best Classic (1350m) on a super day of racing at Doomben. Who caught our attention on the track? Find out down below:

Randwick-
Race One Number 6 So Willie (2nd):
Honestly think if Chris Waller sent this bloke up north, he’d just about win the J J Atkins. He has quality written all over come and looks the perfect horse for a Derby in the Spring and/or Autumn. Very serious horse on the rise.
Doomben
Race One Number 2 Vilanova (6th):
Very unlucky this bloke. Just got shuffled back too far along the rail and then when he got a split near the inside, he got cut out and lost all momentum. He loves Brisbane, so keep an eye on him.
Race Nine Number 14 Najoom (1st):
I don’t care what she beat. Here are the facts: She sat three wide no cover on speed, she’s won by over three lengths, easing up the final 75m. She’s run the fastest 1350m of the day across four races, even running quicker than Boban in the major. Srikandi was a three year old filly last year and she was unlucky not to win the Stradbroke, a Stradbroke which had far greater depth than what we will see in 2015…If she turns up fit and healthy, Najoom wins the Strabdroke.

Race Six Number 2 Destiny’s Kiss (5th):
I have plenty of patience…but it has run out when it comes to this horse. Just cannot find the winning post, even when he strikes favourable conditions like he did here.
Flemington:
(In Victoria) Race Five Number 6 Trade Commissioner (8th):
Very unlucky in a really hot form race, then comes here and does nothing. His best runs have come racing clockwise, so maybe back to Sydney could be on the cards?
Race Six Number 6 Decircles (9th):
Looked awesome at the jump outs, but he has been very plain in two runs this prep. He can warm the bench until further notice.
Doomben:
Race Two Number 6 Peron (9th):
Friendly uppercuts to the punters who supported Peron. She is a dead set milk drinker and the breeding barn is calling.
Race Eight Number 14 Scissor Kick (12th):
Talented horse, but the idea of betting and racing is to win…and he doesn’t do that when it matters most.
Race Eight Number 13 Srikandi (6th):
Won’t be winning any majors. Was given a 12/10 ride by D Browne, he couldn’t have done any more. The mare just didn’t finish off.
