There were some nice performances at the Randwick trials on Tuesday, most notably from a Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) contender. Who caught our eye the most? Find out down below.

Randwick- Tuesday, March 31, Weather Fine, Track Soft 7.
Heat One- Criterion (2nd):
Star galloper who is ticking over beautifully for the Queen Elizabeth after a pleasing trial effort here, where he sat off the speed early on before railing up well and going to the line under a hold to run second to Ecuador. He’ll need to improve a touch to beat Contributer, but he’ll be a definite contender.
Heat Two- Skylimit (1st) and Anyaas (2nd):
Skylimit is a close relation to Overreach, and he looks to have his fair share of ability. Won on debut last year and has trialled a couple of times, the latest being here where he led all the way to beat Anyaas. Skylimit was under a touch more pressure while Anyaas was only clicked up the final 50m. Both are set for good campaigns.
Heat Three- Avoid Lightning (1st):
Star mare who had no luck in the Galaxy, but looks back on track after this impressive trial win, where she sat off the speed, before getting held up a touch early on in the straight. Tim Clark then peeled her the outside and she let down powerfully to win by nearly two lengths, showing a very sharp turn of foot.
Heat Eight- Proactive (1st):
One of Australia’s better maiden gallopers for Team Snowden, and she was clearly the best of the morning. She was near the speed but four and five wide throughout before cruising to the front in the straight and going on to win by a space under a good hold from Jim Cassidy. Maiden win is hers soon, and could well be competitive during the Brisbane Winter Carnival.
