The Spring stars were out and running on Friday morning at Rosehill and Godolphin were at it again with a couple of star performances. Find out who down below:
BLACK BOOK: Black Book these runners HERE so you don’t miss their next run!
Randwick- Friday, August 21, Weather Fine, Track Good 3.
Heat One- Contributer (3rd):
Looked great in his first trial back…looked outstanding in this trial. He again didn’t jump that great and settled back in the run before McDonald peeled him to the outside and the multiple Group l winner just coasted to the line and took some ground off very nicely. It was excellent work.
Heat Two- Hartnell (3rd):
Clearly the best of the morning. He sat back in the run also like Contributer. McDonald stuck to go between runners and the splits came, and under triple wraps, he hit the line with real authority. If the Melbourne Cup was next week, I’d take even money for this horse to win. Lot of water to go under the bridge before the first Tuesday in November, but Hartnell is clearly the horse to beat.
Heat Four- Skylimit (1st):
The younger brother of Golden Slipper winner Overreach looked great in winning this particular barrier trial. He got away brilliantly from the gates to lead easily, and while he didn’t beat much, the margin was decisive and the time was pretty sharp. One to watch for the lesser Stakes races this Spring.
