Heat One- Bantam (1st):
Clearly the best of the morning from this Godolphin youngster. He showed promise during the Autumn in some high class two year old races in Melbourne, and that good form, with time in the paddock, has seen him develop into something pretty good based on this jump out, leading all the way under a hold to win it and win comfortably.
Heat Two- Tawteen (4th):
It’s hard to get a guide on just how well she went, because she was bothered by the riderless horse throughout and was baulked close to the line. But from what I saw and how she appeared to travel, she looked outstanding, leading all the way under a big grip to win the jump out very impressively. Twice now she has done this, so I’ll be keen to see where and when she resumes.
Heat Three- Onerous (2nd) and Prince Nevaux (Last):
Keep an eye on these two. Both have looked sharp in recent previous jump outs, and they have done it again, particularly Onerous, who showed much better gate speed here to sit on speed throughout and just amble to the line in second while Prince Nevaux was behind the leaders all the way and coasted to the line under a nice hold to run last of the six.
