There were some pretty impressive efforts at the Flemington jump outs on Friday, with a couple of Group performers looking sharp. Find out down below who caught our eye the most.
Flemington- Friday, July 3, Weather Fine, Track Good.
Heat One- Vicious (2nd):
Team Hawkes youngster who was touted as a Golden Slipper contender, but didn’t do a great deal on debut in the Talindert behind subsequent Group l winner Pasadena Girl. Has been spelled since, and looks to have come back in outstanding order based on this trial, where he attempted to lead all the way, and though headed late, he was bolting and could have easily won. Highly impressive.
Heat Two- Tawteen (1st) and About Square (3rd):Couple of classy animals here who looked very sharp. Tawteen just bolted in, leading all the way and winning under a hold. She was great, but so was About Square, who settled last in the run before peeling the widest and letting down powerfully under no pressure to run third. Both horses look capable of winning fresh.
Heat Four- Prince Nevaux (4th):
Unraced two year old gelding for Steve Richards. He hasn’t really caught my attention until now, where he looked pretty impressive. He settled off the speed near the inside, and wasn’t knocked about in the straight in running fourth. Looks to have enormous upside and will be better in his second prep I feel, but the talent is there.
Heat Six- Miss Unirad (1st):Daughter of Excites for Team Corstens who resumed on the Geelong Synthetic and didn’t do a great deal. Since came here and she looked very impressive in leading all the way in a pretty handy jump out, and bolting in under no pressure.
