Mornington trainer Mark Riley is being investigated about elevated TCO2 readings returned by two of his horses, one in Victoria and one in South Australia.
Thoroughbred Racing SA stewards have informed Riley of an investigation into an elevated TCO2 reading in a pre-race blood sample taken from Vitreous before the Leabrook Farm Honey Hcp (2021m) at Morphettville on August 6.
The gelding finished second in the race after recording a level above the allowable 36 millimoles per litre.
Racing Victoria stewards opened an investigation into a raised bicarbonate level from stablemate Diablo Rosso prior to the gelding running in the My Jet Aviation Hcp (2400m) Bendigo on August 4.
